✠ A SUMMONS TO THE THERRI'CILL ✠
Issued: Moonday 17th, Goldscorch, 1559

To the Therri’cill of Luminion,

Disturbing news has reached me—an explanation for the sudden disappearance of one of our nation’s beloved councilors. A mystery I had been pondering about for quite some time until it was all made clear. It seems that Ser Damien von Aval was requested, no, invited into your home by your daughter, Prinzess Klepsydra. They were to talk about his banishment from your lands, yet he never seemed to find his way home. Ser Damien, not being a fool, of course, took precautions in case of capture or worse, which is why I now write this letter to you.

Since you have not sent word, as seems to be your speciality, you are hereby summoned to Adelsburg to answer for Ser Damien’s disappearance and presumed capture, or worse. You are to bring Ser Damien with you, and he is to be returned alive and well. When you arrive in Adelsburg, you and two guards of your choosing will be allowed inside the city. Should you bring any more, we will take this as an act of war and respond in kind.

Should you divert, ignore or attempt to circumvent these demands in any way, the Hadrian Empire is also prepared to go to war and open up a second front in your conflict with the Anjyarri Sultanate. The Empire has attempted to remain neutral in the conflict and act as a mediator between the two parties, yet we cannot allow such blatant transgressions to stand. Let me assure you, if you do not respond within two Saint’s Days, the next time you see me will be at the head of an army, marching toward your precious Silver City.

Two days, Therri’cill.

Signed,

THIS DAY
WINEDAY 19, SUNFALL, 1559
On Ser Damien
To Kaiser Diederick-Gobel and Crown-Prinz Karl von Lichtenfelts,
It is with great distrubance we receive your "summons." While actively conducting one war, I receive word a second is on the rise, for matters I know little of, and I suspect, that we all are kept veiled as to its origins. We of the Dominion have oriented ourselves against our antagonizer, who seeks for no other reason beyond self perversion, to take land which is not his. It further denies any action taken against Ser Damien as suggested, though will extend itself out with charity in providing what resources, knowledge, and manpower it can to seeing the situation resolved. Happily and kindly do we respect the Empire's choice of neutrality, a choice made and declared by the Kaiser last we met. Yet now accusations fly without cause or evidence, and truth is assumed outside of reason, with threats of war and unneeded violence thrown out.
Prinz Karl's words toe as though the Empire has already made a decision, and lends itself to questions of whether neutrality is a thing that was ever meant since the beginning of the war. In recognition of the Empire's hegemony, and should hope it is able to maintain its mediating role whilst the conflict subsists with our Anjyarri counterparts. Still, we hold true and suspect the Kaiser's wisdom will continue, and that, with clarity, the source of suspicion can be clarified, examined, and understood freely before swords clash and blood be needlessly spilled. The Dominion accepts this offer to meet, and promises to openly convey its knowledge towards answering what questions imperial officials may have.

Given the nature of active war, and the wording of Prinz Karl's notice, we cannot, however, for sake of national security and other, in good faith be received in the Imperial Capital at this time. However, we recommend the secondary neutral land of Lionne as a promising place where a true discusison can be had. We further accept the Empire's wishes to send three men in total (two soldiers/guards, and one representative) and should hope the Empire would respond in kind. We await the Empire's named date for such an occassion, and we will work to reply in kind towards finding a proper time from which this matter may be put to rest.

Signed,
Varyian Theris
Ia'Cilmeri of the Dominion of Corithiel,
Therri'cill of the Enlightened Kingdom of Luminion,

Guardian of Purity,
Warden of Corithiel,
Theri of the Glade of the Dragons
