Harvestday 26, Sunfall, 1549
Honor Betrayed, Justice Demanded
Citizens of Lünburg and the Empire,
It is with both a heavy heart and an iron resolve that I address you today. I have been attacked in my own hall by four cowardly assailants, one of whom I suspect to be none other than Meat. She entered my hall while I was engaged in conversation with Erzbishop Gottfried, only to leave and return moments later with three masked accomplices, seeking to do me harm.
Let it be known that their attempts were futile. The wretches who dared to strike at me were not strong enough to inflict any serious injury. Their treacherous blades barely left a scratch upon me. However, this act of betrayal will not go unanswered. I swear to you, the loyal people of Lünburg and the Empire, that these traitors will be detained and executed for their heinous crime against the Markgraff, the Erzbishop and the Empire.
I took Meat into my home, provided for her, and offered her protection. And how does she repay my kindness? With dishonor and treachery. She attacked me without honor, within the very walls that sheltered her.
Rest assured, justice will be served. I will not rest until these traitors face the consequences of their actions. Lünburg and the Empire will remain strong and united against such treachery.
