To all those it might concern,
In recent years, I have felt my body take a toll on me. The life of a Ritter is a harsh one, on the body as well as the mind. My duty has and always will be to this Empire, and its Kaiser, however I feel I am wasted in my role as Hochmeister of the Greifengarde. I feel it is the right time for me to step aside, and hand forward the torch of guidance.
Younger, more abled Ritters have risen through the ranks, which makes me proud beyond comprehension. Their guidance and strength will be what navigates us through the darkest of times, in moments where we will be in need of it most. These young men exemplify my life’s work, and it would be an honour to see them succeed. Most prominently, a more recent addition to the Order, Ser Damien von Aval. His character and intellect has shone through on numerous occasions, and he will be my chosen successor as the Hochmeister of this sacred institution.
Lastly, it has been an honour to serve as your Hochmeister, and your ErzBannerbearer. I will be continuing my duties as normal, as a Ritter of the Greifengarde proper. I will watch all your careers with great interest, and grant insight wherever and whenever it might be needed.
