~Recap of the investigation of the body near Bergwald~
“Eure Kaiserliche Hoheit Karl von Lichtenfelts,”
“During the investigation, I have gathered some information from investigating the area and by doing an autopsy on the body. It seemed like a smart idea to share all the information gathered with the ones involved. Therefore I decided to write everything I found out in addition to conclusions that can be made with this information down in a letter for you.”
“Results of the autopsy”
“The deceased has most likely passed away due to excessive blood loss caused by the multiple claw wounds and due to his belly being ripped open and missing legs. By looking at the wounds closely I saw little stones stuck in there. Other than that identification wasn’t possible due to the severity of the wounds.“
“Found evidence & information about such”
“Around the body, a lot of feathers were lying on the ground, when I picked one of these feathers up I concluded that they belonged to a male griffin, due to the feathers being white and black instead of one color. Since griffins usually don’t randomly attack people I decided to check for any reasons for the attack.”
“When I took a closer look at the body and did an autopsy. The legs of the deceased were missing and his belly was ripped open. The face was covered in huge claw marks. By looking at the wounds closely I saw little stones stuck in there so I decided to take one to take a closer look.”
“What I found out was that the rocks aren’t from around the area, but from an area with mountains. Therefore I figured out the griffin might have his nest somewhere on the Spine of Eden. The reason for the kill was possibly to feed possible offspring. This would mean that said griffin is most likely not alone.”
“Possible location and motives for the attack”
“Griffins usually don’t randomly attack others unless they have a reason for it. They get especially aggressive when people go near their nests. The breeding season for Griffins takes place during Lilith’s Veil due to the winds blowing downstream into the nearby forests along Eden’s spine, which ended not too long ago. Therefore there is a big chance of being a nest and with that more griffins there. “
“To locate the Griffin we have to figure out where it went or where it has been. There are some signs that we can look for that show us a griffin is near. Typical signs of a Griffin’s being near can be: dislodged head feathers, scratched if not destroyed trees, and wind-disturbed soil.”

“Griffins are quite fast on land, but while in the air they’re even faster. So to fight them it’s better to catch them on the ground. The talons and the beak of a griffin are quite sharp and can even go as far as piercing through metal. These attacks can cause a lot of harm to a person, therefore a medic could come in handy while fighting one. “
