[!] A raven soared through the early-morning sky, headed southward for the sandstone palace of the Sultan in Al-Khadir. It carried a letter, bearing the royal seal of Hadriana.

✠ A NOTICE TO THE SULTAN ✠

To his Majesty, Sultan Sig’vyl Al-Buthara,

I hope this letter finds you well. Recently, my entourage and I relieved the Sultanate of a bothersome prisoner that had found his way into its cells seemingly without reason or cause. During this exchange, you requested of me to be informed of the prisoner’s end, and I am a man of my word.

As you are well aware, the white-haired man taken from your cells had named himself ‘Viktor’. My initial instincts were correct, and during the following trial, ‘Viktor’ announced himself to be none other than my brother, who had turned traitor, Wilhelm Sigismund. He stood accused of betraying the Empire, betraying his wife and the sanctimony of marriage by plotting to elope with Prinzess Klepsydra of Luminion and meddling in voidal magics. After an outburst at the ‘hypocrisy’ as he put it, of it all, he was found guilty on all charges and promptly executed in the courtyard at His Imperial Majesty’s hand.

However, he released no knowledge of the High-Elf who goes by the name of Astraeus, who was supposed to have been in the cell before him. One can only speculate about what had transpired in those cells, whether Wilhelm broke out the elf and put himself in his place, or if darker forces were at play here. I hope to have informed you well enough, Sultan, if not, you are welcome at the Imperial Palace to ask any questions that remain in your mind.

Signed,
