A visit to Hadrian lands

Just a few days ago the Azari’cill were invited to the lovely palace of Hadriana within Adelsburg to discuss the future between the Enlightened Kingdom of Luminion and their counterparts to the west. A large group of Azari’cill mustered at the behest of the perspicacious Therri’cill and marched westward to meet their round-ear’d friends. They were met with a mixture of jubilous greeting and guarded gazes as they passed through the gate and proudly up to the palace. It was here they were met with a suspicious human, a knight by the name of Cedric Reinhardt, who attempted to submit the Therri’cill to a play of power by limiting the number of guards that can enter. The sagacious Therri’cill keenly saw something off putting with this impure human and was quick to detect a heretical air about him, so he waved off the nebulous orders of the man and entered the palace unimpeded with his entourage of diplomats and military personnel, only to be personally welcomed with open arms by the Kaiser and his kin.

The meeting with the Kaiser was told to have gone excellently. The talks lasted for many hours. Though comments on the content of the talks were scarce, they all painted a clear picture that every obstacle that came into view was quickly traversed over without issue. Privacy seemed to be a key concern of government officials on both sides but after the talks were completed they were all eager to submit a grand display of comradery to the joined publics of Luminion and Hadriana respectively. It seemed beyond any reasonable doubt that our judicious Therri’cill and his entourage of rational, able minded individuals have once again made monumental steps for the betterment of our collective peoples.

There was only one issue that was presented to the two nations during the talks, and that was the treachery that was discovered by the heretical human Cedric Reinhardt as prior mentioned in the article. It was found that he had lied directly to both the Luminous Court and Hadriana’s representatives, including the Kaiser himself and the Lady Justicar, Ma Belov. To give the reader some context, in days past the charitable and generous Therri’cill had approved a rather pointed and terse request- if one could call it that- from Cedric Reinhardt to take his college associates with them to the southern reaches of the Enlightened Kingdom’s forest to study the fauna and flora they see. Eager to help guide the human nation toward their own enlightenment, he allowed them to enter, but what happened next was heinous to the greatest degree. An interview we had with one of the attendees describes their experience in a frightening and harrowing light that applies a great deal of illumination on the actions of Mister Reinhardt.

They began with a description of their travels; they set the scene in a moonlit forest flickering with small motes of blue flame and echoing with disjointed voices. These voices were recollected as taunting, and they were even knowledgeable of some of the party’s names. They began to tread toward the voices and only stopped when they encountered a pool of water holding a bone flute, now known to be cursed, in its center. Hadriana’s Lord Marshal at the time, Leod Iomharach, retrieved the flute and began to play it in an allegedly bewitched state. The sound it created was described as nothing less than haunting, and the result was even worse. A horde of undead arms began to burst through the ground and grasp at their legs. Though they took no deaths, one fellow was severely injured. The Lord Marshal dropped the flute and reportedly saw an individual that was not there. They barely escaped the scenario with their lives, and once they were finally free, Cedric allowed temptation to claim his mindset.

The attendee graciously described to them that he expressed an intent to return this cursed item to the Kingdom of Hadriana to have it destroyed, but others in the group objected and requested he bring it to the Enlightened Kingdom of Luminion for processing. It was reported that Cedric even began to threaten several individuals within the group who expressed an interest in speaking to a member of the Tyr’es Alari on this matter. He and his group made their way to the Enlightened Kingdom’s hospital to receive medical care and Cedric proceeded to claim that the undead were sourced from an Azari necromancer, and that we simply had undead in our backyards. The flute was returned to Hadriana without even a slight hint of its existence to Luminion and Cedric failed to report the matter to the Kaiser as well. This underhanded tactic was exposed within the talks between the Therri’cill and the Kaiser, and Cedric was punished greatly before the assembly of our two nations. Fifty lashes were to be given to Cedric. The first 49 were given by the Lady Justicar, and the 50th was given by the great Therri’cill on behalf of all Azar’cill with a great strike of summoned lightning from the skies. It is to note that during these proceedings, Cedric Reinhardt was observed to have been branded with a mark of heresy upon his arm, which came of no surprise to anyone.

With that unpleasantness out of the way, celebrations between our two peoples lasted long into the night. Jaunty tunes were sung and there were no further reports of disruption.

Royal Assembly IV
To expand on this great news, the Enlightened Kingdom of Luminion has once more been reunited with a long lost love. The historic city of Aerial, the birthplace of the Luminous Enclave, has been freed of voidal corruption and returned to the caring embrace of the Silver City and her Mother by the hands of the accomplished Ashguard, a royal agency of specialists and emissaries to the nobility that have taken position within the Kingdom. Fynenar Aey’flir and Ya’el Othorion, two prominent figures within the Azari’cill governmental structure, will be open to comment on the future plans for Aerial tonight. All are welcome to attend.
