Wow! It’s hard to believe that it’s 2023 already. I hope everyone had fun at the Mythmas events last year, and I look forward to what the server has in store for the rest of 2023. Let’s get to the business at hand!

Though it’s already been noticed, the community team underwent a few changes. I accepted the role of Community Team Lead, and I hope to bring much-needed renovation to the team. Though many of the upcoming changes to the community team will be behind the scenes, we hope that it brings us much closer to being able to serve players and staff better.

The Community Team can always use more members helping to give new players a memorable first impression. If you like working with people and teaching players about the game, work for us! You can find the application right [here]!

As part of the update, staff collected the January community feedback. It’s time to review all the data collected from last month and let you know what's coming up in February.

Out of 34 responses, over a quarter of the players joined in January! We had more responses than in the last few Community Feedback forms, showing that we grow bigger each month. Maybe next month, we can get to 40 responses! Out of 34 responses, most players joined after being referred to us by friends. The PlanetMinecraft advertising is still going strong, while our social media ventures still need to garner new people as they did in previous months.

However, I strongly encourage members to invite their friends to Fables! After all, everything is more fun with friends; if you have all your friends, it'll be just the best time.

Looking over the numbers, I did spot a five in each category. After a little investigation, it seems that '5' is a neutral answer, as the person has no opinion on the current state and quality of the server. I will look into including a "No Opinion" on the next feedback form for anyone who has a neutral option of the current state and quality of the server. Even though the staff will continue to strive for a majority of 10s, there is no sense in letting the goal of perfection prevent the implementation of good improvements.

Having many good ratings is better than having a few perfect ratings. After all, there’s no such thing as perfect (but that doesn’t mean we won’t try our best).

Community Call - February 3rd​

It’s community call time! Arkhun and other staff will be hosting the community call in our main discord! It’ll start at 22:00 CET (4 PM EST for Americans), and will run for at least an hour!

A community call is the best time to get an insight behind the scenes, a sneak peek into what’s coming up, and a chance to ask the owner questions in front of a large crowd! This is also the best time to invite a friend to Fables, as community calls are quite an enjoyable and exciting time.

The Great Beast Chronicles - Monthly Contest​

It’s time for something new! In previous months, contests were always about art, writing, or memes. In a first for our community, this month's contest will impact the server itself, and in the spirit of Valentine's Day, you will get to work with a buddy!

The Great Beast Chronicles is a new take on a writing contest. In this contest, you and your teammate will write a literary piece about a beast. You will create this fictional beast and write an encounter about it. It does not have to be hostile as long as you write the best literary encounter. You may write a short story, a poem, a really long haiku, a journal entry, etc.; go nuts!

After the contest ends, the winner will work alongside the Lore Team to have their fictional beast introduced into the server! The beast will get a wiki page in the bestiary as well. Images for your entry are optional, but understand that any image that goes into the wiki must be created by you or for the server; hence why it's prudent to get descriptive with the bestiary entry if you win. Important note, it's helpful to describe the looks, where it was found, and what it did. Happy writing, and good luck. The winner and their partner will also receive some tokens, as usual.

If you really, really, can't find a partner to work with.. yes, you can submit your entry alone.
