Hello everybody! I'm pleased to (finally) post the bi-monthly update for the months of September and October! I apologize for being late three times in a row for updates, but alas, better now than never! Don't be surprised if you see a lot of November content by the end of this post. I thought that I might as well considering the contest deadline, as confusing as it looks. Otherwise, I hope everyone has had a wonderful Halloween and Thanksgiving (if you're American, of course)! With that out of the way...

Feedback Analytics

The community's feedback form opened on November 14th. We collected a total of 11 responses, a staggering decrease from the amount we had the last time! That is perfectly understandable, as many are currently taking a break for the holidays or school. The ratios have stayed about the same, with 54.5% of players having found the server through friends (Let's keep that sense of community strong, people!). 27.5% of you have found us on PlanetMinecraft! Warm welcomes to all of you! The minority, 18.2%, have picked other and etcetera. Hmph, okay... Keep your secrets...

Ratings for our server's current state seem to have gotten much more positive since last time, although I can't say for sure if that's just due to the smaller numbers we've had on the feedback form this time! Community ratings also seem to be going strong compared to last time. I'm very pleased that many of you are finding yourselves comfortable here, at the very least!

SEPTEMBER───────────────────────────────────────────────OCTOBER​

The two charts in each section represent the application data from September (left) and October (right) of 2024. We have processed a total of 119 applications, which is significantly less than what we had last update, but oh well! The seasons shift and turn, and so do our players! What else can we really do? Thankfully, in September, it seems that we've had more people accepted than denied, totaling to 64.6%! However, this is immediately dwarfed by the significant amount of denies in October, being 59%, which is better than July's statistics for what it's worth. My advice stays the same as last time to those who were denied! Make sure to follow community team's criticisms on your applications, and most importantly, keep trying and learn from your mistakes!

SEPTEMBER───────────────────────────────────────────────OCTOBER​

In September, elves continue to remain the most popular race to apply with, being 41.4%, not too far off from last bi-monthly's data! Humans follow behind at 37.9%, which is a tad more than before! Tieflings continue to maintain their third-place spot at 17.2%, while we have 2 denur who have come to join us! Stay strong, cavedwellers!

In October, unsurprisingly, elves stay in the lead with 39.3%, with humans lingering behind at 31.1%. Tieflings remain with 11.5%, but they seem to be joined by a few other friends! 3 halflings, 3 goblins, 3 orcs, and 2 denur have popped out of the shadows! If any of you have made it through the application floodgates, I applaud you for being fancy and unique!

SEPTEMBER───────────────────────────────────────────────OCTOBER​

The gender ratios seem to be a bit skewed this time around. In September, 51.7% of applicants chose male characters while 41.4% chose female, along with a small 6.9% (nice) margin of those picking other! October looks to have a larger ratio of males at 67.2%, with females only at 32.8%. Gotta keep the testosterone strong, right fellas?

SEPTEMBER───────────────────────────────────────────────OCTOBER​

Geez! Looks like the Bedrock players have been absolutely devoured this time around, with Java players overtaking them by 96.6%! While Bedrock players did manage to wedge themselves out of the pie chart Pac-man's jaws by shifting their numbers to 11.5% by October, the Java majority (88.5%) is still something to gawk at!

Remember, it's highly recommended that you join the [Main Discord] before you make an application or shortly after you make an application. This gives applicants the best chance to make it past Pending within the week-long deadline!

FABLES & FANTASY 3RD ANNIVERSARY
"Happy birthday to you! Cha-cha-cha..."

The server was officially created on October 1st of 2021. A lot has happened, much has changed, and yet, we're still here and thriving despite it all. During this point of recording server events for these two months, we were able to celebrate it together as a community!

On October 10th, the anniversary video celebrating Fables & Fantasy's 3rd birthday was announced. If you haven't already seen the video that was lovingly commissioned by server owner Arkhun, I suggest scrolling up our announcements channel to see it! Trust me, I've never felt more patriotic for a Minecraft server in my life since seeing that. Let's hope for more anniversaries to come, and beyond that, for more happy memories to be created!

THE SHORT-LIVED RETURN OF CUSTOM WEAPONRY

I'm sure we've all been heavily enjoying the return of custom weapons for the time they've been reinstated. I've seen many of you use your beloved creations during server events to great effect and I'm happy to see everyone testing their creativity to see what they could make! However, all good things must come to a close, as unfortunate as that fact is...

After the promotion of Loremaster TM Ghost on November 11th, custom weaponry has been put back on halt until further notice. It has been noticed by the higher-ups of the server that the system didn't hold any solid guidelines for aspiring smiths to work with, meaning that weapon abilities became inconsistent and even overpowered. All custom weapons created before this change can still be kept and used, but otherwise, let us hope that a new system is created in due time for this! Heavens know I could use a fancier bow in the future.

"LORD OF BONES" EVENT LINE FEEDBACK

The "Lord of Bones" event line has defined much of the server's roleplay conflict for nearly three years, having fallen into the hands of many who have attempted to manage it to little effect. In present day, Gamemaster Krisa has kept the event line running more consistently, but even evil skeleton overlords need to listen to the criticism of their enemies sometimes!

On November 20th, Gamemaster TM Catins opened up a form for player feedback on the "Lord of Bones" event line, located in our Discord server's bulletin board channel. It has been a good week since then, and as far as I've heard, there is much to be addressed regarding your thoughts on Event Team's work! An update on this feedback form is estimated to be announced tomorrow (woohoo)! That's certainly something to look forward to as Christmas begins to roll around!

HAUNTED TALES - COMMUNITY CONTEST

Contest Prompt:
It's been quite a few months since the last community contest, but my team and I have been tossing around a lot of ideas to celebrate the upcoming fall season! We, the Community Team, introduce to you... The Haunted Tales Contest!

We have opened a forum section for YOU to submit your best Halloween-themed stories! We figured that this way, everyone could showcase their creative capabilities without being hindered by the limits of discord (save for obvious rules that I will list below this post)!

Here are your guidelines!

• You must already be a whitelisted server player to make your submission valid.
• All participants may only create ONE submission.
• Submissions must have a minimum of 200 words. The maximum word count is 1000.
• Keep your submissions age-appropriate. This includes no sensitive content such as sexual assault, pedophilia, extreme gore, etc.
• You are allowed to use pictures or videos in moderation. But remember; this is a writing contest, not a photography contest!
• Stay in theme! All submissions must relate to Halloween or autumn in general.
• Submit a link to your work in the community contest channel on our discord server! It's not needed, but it makes seeing it easier.
• You have until the 10th of November to get submissions in.

Anyone who violates these rules will have their submissions immediately deleted.

We will pick a total of three winners by the end of the contest, each one earning a total of 250 tokens! Please be sure to upvote your favorite submissions! There are no limits to how many submissions you can upvote.
