The End of a Nightmare
Our once present 'war' brought to our borders veiled, empty threats, made by Sig'Vyl, the Glutton and Unloved former Sultan of Anjyarr. Such conflict, after a long time departed from any bloodshed, with our people now left in peace, is now over. In the interim of our public absence, we have worked behind the scenes to remove the remaining traitors to Eden, as well as clearing out those within our own rank who did not believe in the Corithiel Dream. This was a decisive victory for ourselves, but also for the world at large, for surely once the Glutton had his fill of our lands, his eyes would turn north to our Hadrian friends. It is important to note, my filos, that this victory was not one of compromise, but decisive action. In a few swift movements, Anjyarr was left crippled - their ships were burned, walls assailed, city vandalized, and tunnels collapsed. All the while, our land, our people, and our Dream, lives on. Kape Roth remains untouched by their lies, well within our grasp, their threats remain empty, and the conflict over without a drop of blood from our side.
The false Sultan came to take what was never his. He came with pride, hunger, and delusion. He thought us weak. That we were distracted by our own steadfast growth, and that we would bend and succumb to his empty threats. In the end, he lay broken and now at large. Thankfully, our operatives have taken initative to begin seeking him out, and though he had evaded us for sometime, we continue to seek him out so he can be brought to justice. We doubt he will be see again, but should be found, rest assured he will be tried under the Mother's mercy and be punished accordingly.
Our victory stands more than just a testament to defending our own. It confirms our resolve and belief in our Dream. I am confident such an ordeal was a divine test, and that we chosen few are the successors to this Enlightened Kingdom, guided under and by the Mother's wisdom through the wise and proper voice of the Corithiel Council. The work each gave, both citizen and foreign-friend alike, stands as a message to others. Let every land that lies beyond our mountains, every rival who wonders how far we will rise, every coward and traitor who hides in shadow know that this be your answer: our Dream is more than a vision, philosophy, or way of life - it is victory, propserity, and justice unyielding.
Our detractors, however, will say this victory was uncalled for. That our actions taken to achieve it, however swift and efficient, however bloodless and life-saving they were, was cruelty. They will say we were too strict, too unyielding in our cause. Perhaps even, they would believe and have wished for our loss. Yet it was not cruelty which rebuilt Corithiel out of its former shell, nor weakness which made Dragons out of our soldiers to bring them victory, nor defeat which saw Anjyarr crippled. It was strength, discipline, and understanding. An understanding that to be a Dragon, is to rule, or be ruled. We must never forget the stress we endured, the sleepless nights which drifted into a waking nightmare. That unfortuante dream is over, and we are reminded to give pause, thanks, and attention back towards our main focus.
Corithiel will not fade as our enemy has. It will not weaken nor grow soft in its triumph. We must all rise to our occassion - higher, stronger, and more united by our Dream than ever before. The road of work, labor, and sacrifice lays ahead of us, and only loyalty will see us through.
The la'Cilmeri of Corithiel gives praise to the following for their efforts in seeing the non-existent war come to a close:
- The Corithiel Council, including Mihail Brukov, Yelran Roseshade, Klepsydra Theris, Fa'elira Theris, Arquia Sylvaris, and Lanthirandel Galathilion, for their constant guidance, encouragement, and sacrifice in keeping our society active, alive, and prepared
- The Theris family, including Fa'elira, Klepsydra, and Fa'eron, for their love, dedication, and support during this time, alongside their devotion in caring for our people and their future
- The Geomancers, including Archmage Yelran Roseshade, Darian Broadbeam, Zeflore and Fardahn R, and others, for venturing into enemy territory and collapsing their tunnels, cutting off their supplies and travel. Archmage Yelran's passing is a heavy loss to us all, and we will remember his countless years of service in our hearts as we work to fulfill the Dream in his name and honor.
- Archmage Atticus Solil'tay, for his loyalty, service, and venturing into enemy territory to vandalize, burn, and destroy the enemy's morale and ships. In absence of the loss of Archmage Yelran Roseshade, we cordially invite Archmage Atticus to join the Corithiel Council in the position of Office of the Sage.
- To Harrsion van der Draeck (and his Golden Dragons), for his friendship, insights, and countless hours of work in helping a land and people that were not his own
- To Fenrir the Vulpine, for his restraint, civility, and utility in defending our land and people, serving as a border sentinel to ward off our adversaries.
- To our Kitaari soldiers and mages, with special thanks to Thirion Dasta'tra, Raiden Sylvaris, Illyria Il'Valyris, Taivascin Opettaja, Zatan Rainswrath, Ashe, Corvin Donderveld, Oni Arashi, Josys'idl Wyn'elenil, Zeflore R, Fardahn R, and Talia Al'Rahim, for their many hours of watch and surveillance, for their defense of their community, and the loyalty and valor they demonstrated
- To our Medicilus', with special thanks to Faiir Chamaire, Seremei Delarus, and Lysria Luminara, who were ever ready to heal our wounded, nurse our sick, and kept close watch of our own while our eyes as a nation looked outside our borders
- To our citizens, for their trust, unwavering support and loyalty, and for the strength they showed in seeing this conflict through until its end
- To our Denur friends to the north, for their encouragement, offer, and generosity midst this time
- To our Hadrian friends, for their hospitality, kindness, and prudence midst this time.
