Enable players to change their stats under specific circumstances

I would really like be able to change your stats, not have it be just completely impossible. My suggestion would be simply to have a fee to change the stats and a loremaster who has to approve of the change. This way unwanted stat changes for unfair advantages / stat changes that don't fit the character could be prevented.

Sounds like a good idea, just gotta make sure there's a cool down for it or something so you can't change your stats based on the event/RP you're about to participate in

I mean wouldn't it be kinda weird that one week you are strong boy and the next week you are smart boy

Exactly, that's why I would require Lore Team approval for it (So the perms to change stats would only be given to either Loremasters or the Lore TM himself), that way stats can only be changed if it makes sense in lore.

Yes, that would require a lot of effort to check if it makes sense, so it is a good suggestion we might want to look deeper at applicating it

I get that it would take fairly much effort, but I believe Lore Team is able to handle it well especially now that we're getting more Loremasters

Currently people can technically just pk their char and recreate it with different stats. I'm not sure about the legality of that... but it sure is possible.
The only thing that would be changed is their card number and their stats, staff most likely wouldn't notice.

Yeah, it's already *possible*, but we could "legalize" it to gain better control over it. And, reduce the effort for players of course

Yeah.. and I do not recommend actually doing it like this, even though it's technically possible. Currently me and darwin can truly *edit* stats, but if we want this we should add a proper command to change a player's stats.

Exactly, that was my suggestion. A way for people to apply for stat changes (Maybe just a Lore Ticket).

Got to say I disagree with this- Stats should be something your character earns and something as a player you use as a record of character progression. I know currently, there is no stat progression within the system, but provided it's implemented, changing your stats would completely destroy character identity and the credibility of the stats system as a whole.

As to your point about getting LT approval, this should be the case in a progression system where you can use RP evidence to have your stats improved etc. But completely shifting stats from one thing to another based on what your interest is that month seems cheap, and ruins any character that wants to 'specialise' in a field.

Yeah I mean I completely agree with your first point - a progression system would be better. I made this suggestion because I was under the impression that we won't get such system for a long time, and rather than having your stats be absolute I'd wanna be able to change them, even with the harsh limitations described in the thread above.
Though to your second point, the LM approval would prevent exactly what you describe in your last sentence, nobody would be able to change their stats however they feel. Lore Team could review the exact reasons the player gives for the stat change and depending on their judgement allow or deny it.

So in conclusion yes of course a progression system would be better, but if that just won't be implemented or least not yet, I think it to be a good idea to at least have the possibility to change your stats.

Player stats are already being changed, sometimes on request of Arkhun, sometimes in bug report tickets to the tech team. Many players have stats from long ago that no longer make sense in the current meta, or even have legacy stats that have less points than what they're supposed to have. This latter phenomenon is unfortunately possible because data migrations have not properly been executed for player stats in the past. Another common scenario is new players with uneven stat numbers, which are completely useless and should not even exist in the first place. We try to restrict ourselves to these previously mentioned scenarios and not go around arbitrarily changing stats left and right.
The entire situation is not ideal and should get more integrated with lore team.

Yeah I completely agree, that's what this whole thread has been about (Even though I wrote it almost 7 months ago)

This has been implemented by now.
Players can open a 'Lore Request' ticket in the Support Discord to request a potential stat change.
