To Kaiser Diederick von Lichtenfelts, (Please do not metagame the following information <3)
My name is Lorenzo, your current keeper and librarian here in Adelsburg. I write first to report to you that since my taking of office, the library has significantly expanded its overall volume of books. While there have been some attempts by an elf in Luminion to usurp our library's supremacy, I am happy to additionally report no library is more full than ours, including that of the famed 'Thyst Library.' In addition my exploits have taken me to serving you and our country in other manners, from taking on a role in the church, becoming a member of the Nachtbruderschaft, and working closely with the Kaiserin to bring information (both internal and foreign) to the state's attention. You may recall the last Imperial Diet, and it was me as the Mortius Cultist who rose and gave testimony as to the then ongoing situation with Zladimir de Tiri in Lunburg. Throughout the rebellion, I served as a key tool to the Crown in working to build a false relationship with the de Tiris and their allies, which lead me to the theory that the de Tiris had been housing members of the Rovelt family within their walls, which I again mentioned at the last Diet. This, among many other exploits and pieces of information have thankfully been brought forward and shined a light upon for the Crown's use.
As mentioned, I was present at the last Diet, where I took to noticing the vote which prohibited all members of the clergy (besides the Sisters of Alda) from marrying. This is the reason I reach out to you now, as currently I preside as a member of the Cult of Mortius, and soon seek marriage to Erma van Havrania, a Hadrian citizen who has taken over the Adelsburg blacksmith alongside Berwulf Clarmontine. This prohibition vote, as I understand, was passed following a back and forth banter between Abbot Gottfried and members of your Diet. As emotions swelled, this proposal was brought forward and passed, which I now ask you to exempt me of. With their being no Vater yet named, I trust the responsibility that Alder has placed upon you as our empire's Kaiser makes you the best person to reach out to regarding this matter. My place within the Cult of Mortius is rising, and soon enough I believe I will take a larger position within, which is valuable not only for the good of the faith but also the Crown. That being, my place within the Mortius Cult is both one of faith and politics. While we work to name a new Vater, I believe it is imperative that the Cult, particularly who have been involved with necromancy in the past and who work most closely against the Voidal scourge, be kept within the Crown's purview so they may be aware of any danger lurking within the Cult's ranks. Already has information been shared with the Crown regarding the ongoings of the Cult, which I hope to continue to do whilst also serving in the Cult for the good of our society. It is because of this that I ask you for this exemption, otherwise leaving me with little choice but to resign my position within the Cult. Should you seek to resend a reply letter, my address within the capital is Factorious Platz 1.
If you seek more information, I oblige you to summon me to the palace where I will happily tell you what else you wish to know.
Sincerely,
Lorenzo
