The echo of footsteps can be heard as a cloaked man makes his way through the barren and abandoned streets of Adelsburg. Slowly but steadily he makes his way closer towards the imperial palace. He passes the abandoned inn, then past the ransacked Alderist church, defiled and pillaged by the hands of the false shepherd, then through the central gate and past the once bustling western housing district until he stands before the gates of the palace.
He makes his way inside and what he finds is a pillaged and empty place that was once the seat of the holy imperial crown.
As he enters the throne room with a carpet still stained with the dry blood of those who stood to protect their home and liege he takes off his cap to reveal the brother of the late Kaiser, Diederick-Gobel. He slowly paces towards the throne where a dusted golden crown decorated with golden griffins lies, one of the few pieces that survived the carnage. Behind the throne in the corner lies a cobweb-covered greatsword inscribed with the letters RDMP-NBS-OFRT and covered in ancient runes. Diederick kneels down beside the sword and removes some of the webs covering it before allowing a single tear to roll down his cheek.
"Ze traitors have brought ruin to our Reich. Everything that was lies shattered on ze streets besides ze corpses of ze innocent."
"Ich know what must be done, and have ze will to see it through. Together, we shall restore ze glory of ze Reich."
"FOR KAISER, ALDER, UND VATERLAND!"
