✠ The Initiation Ritual to the Alderist Faith: a standardization✠

13, Firstseed, 1543

✠ The Initiation to the Cult of Alder
For a long time this ritual, aimed at converting an infidel into an initiate of the cult of Alder and the Sentinels, was devoid of any real norm and for this reason many of our brothers declared themselves faithful to Alder in many different ways, some coming from premises not directly connected to the cult of Alder.

However, it is my task to establish a single path for worship, capable of dispelling every doubt in the minds of the faithful.

What follows is a standardization of a ritual already in use in most territories of the Empire and rooted in Alderist tradition by my predecessors.

✠ The Canon Ritual
From now on the initiation ritual will be one and only, the most widespread in the territories of the Empire to date: a blessed brand of fire and steel that will permanently imprint the seal of Alder on the body of the faithful.

The mark can be of any size or dimension, imprinted on any part of the body, as long as it respects the dignity of the person and the Alderist belief and that the nine-pointed Hadrius Star, which has been a symbol of our belief since the times when the Oracle walked these lands, is clearly visible.

Those who have already been initiated into the cult with a different technique are exempt from this only now regulated practice, unless they wish to receive the mark.

Initiation without branding is also permitted, at the discretion of the officiating clergy, for the following categories:

  • Citizens who are seriously ill or dying, who would not survive the branding.
Those under the age of 18 cannot be initiated into the cult.

All members of the clergy except Templar Paladins can officiate the initiation ritual into the cult of Alder.
