[!] A mysterious figure, shrouded in a black robe, would silently pin a cryptic pamphlet to the notice board of various settlements around the Hadrian Empire. Whispers of his bone-white skull mask and the enigmatic nine-pointed star hanging around his neck would circulate among those who encountered him. [!]

Attention, beloved Brüders and Süsters in Faith, citizens of the realm and those deemed allies,

Amidst the current tempestuous era, the united front of the Cult of Mortius, in a spirit of collective decision-making, has urgently convened to deeply ponder the pressing political matters and the formidable challenges that have ensnared the Clergy of the Temple of Alder.

From within the Schwarze Abtei, the Cult of Mortius under the leadership of the Black Chaplain and Abbot, Gottfried Fredric Von Wolfhard, has proclaimed the following statements:

"A few Saintsdays ago, I, Abbot Gottfried of the Mortius Cult, headed into the lands of Flüssland to assess the current situation and speak to those of the Clergy. Instead, I was faced by the traitorous Markgraf Zladimir De Tiri. During talks with one of the Süsters, I was approached and threatened with a drawn weapon by the traitorous Markgraf, followed by accusations of murder, treason, conspiracy, and the Cult being accused of aiding Voidal sympathizers and aiding the Kaiserin of Hadriana. This is a threat and accusation we do not tolerate. Nor do we condone such sinful speech. Following was a statement by Markgraf that our Patron Sentinel, Mortius, had been the one to ask Markgraf Zladimir, the entire De Tiri family, to take this course of action: proclaiming that Mortius begged for their declaration of independence and that in the name of the Great Oracle, he was in the right. Not only were these blasphemous words spoken in grandeur and audacity, but also to empower his self-right actions as if he were some form of saint. He was speaking as if he was standing superior above the law and on the level of the Sentinels. Seeing this behavior and hearing his words added to his physically deteriorating state and the eyes of a madman, the Cult of Mortius hereby declares that the Markgraf of Flussland suffers from a condition only possibly connected to Demonic influence: possession. The Cult requests for the Markgraf, his family, and his close affiliates be called onto the Great Cathedral of Alder in Adelsburg to be thoroughly questioned and investigated by the Clergy and- or any Lunarmancers able to assist in the examination of the presence of Voidal influence. Failure to comply will have him be declared to be in a true Possessed state and under the influence of the Deceiver or his creations. We see it as a great shame that the once-great Markgraf has turned to a path of darkness and heresy, a sin only able to be truly rectified with the penance of dying in the service of the great Oracle, Alder."

The Cults' decrees are as follows:
Given the Markgraf's betrayal, his threats, and the resulting hindrance to our duty, the Cult of Mortius has made a difficult decision. We hereby announce our strategic withdrawal from the frontlines and cessation of our aid in the formed armies against the Bone Lord. This is done to safeguard our interests and maintain our strength, a sacrifice we make for the greater good of our cause.

While the accusations against the Kaiserin are severe and should and will be thoroughly investigated, the Cult sees this matter as the royal family being framed in a political move. Thus, this matter could be resolved in court under the eyes of the Clergy, law, and Alder himself instead of turning away from the people for self-gain and power. An act only seen as treasonous and sinful in the eyes of the Sentinels. By the holy line of rulers and descendants of Alder, written down in the sacred scrolls and books of the Temple of Alderism, the Lichtenfelts remain the true rulers of the realm. The Cult of Mortius remains in service of the Kaiser and his people despite the accusations against his wife.

The Cult of Mortius requests all remaining Temple members to stand against these acts of treason and heresy and bring the people who turned away from the realm back into the Light of Alder. Either willingly or by force if deemed necessary. The option of neutrality in this matter is no longer optional due to the threats imposed on the Abbot of the Schwarze Abtei. Those aiding the traitor forces are seen as participating in the same crimes as the Markgraf. Thus, they are deemed rogue and unable to continue their work for the great Oracle. The Cult denounces their role as clergy members. Those who have so should be punished accordingly to a penance of servitude, pilgrimage, or death in His service or of their Patron Sentinel against the forces of the Neverborne, depending on their involvement. All shall be sternly questioned and investigated.

During times of greater conflict, the Cult finds the actions of House De Tiri distasteful, shameful, strategically unpractical, and, of all, heretical. To declare once-self so highly in might and law, turning against friends and accusing those in ruling positions only makes us confirm that the north is under more Demonic threat than just the forces of the Undead. We pray for the protection of the innocent people, and may they continue to wander towards the true light of the Oracle and the Order of Enlightenment.

To them, we say, withstand the seeds of corruption, for Alder's light shines through. All will unfold as the Beneficent Oracle wills.
