[!] A figure clad in religious robes of the Temple of Alder would pin a pamphlet on the notice boards of all Imperial settlements within the Hadrian Empire. Hear-ye sayers would also spread the news around the countryside and border regions. Over time, the entire continent would know of this news. [!]
Wineday 11, Rainswrath, 1552
Official Decree: Introduction of the Hexenjäger Mandate
By the authority of the Temple of Alder and for the continued protection of the Hadrian Empire, we hereby proclaim the official institution of the Hexenjäger Mandate.
Effective immediately on the 11th of Wineday, Rainswrath, 1552, this Mandate establishes the legal framework for professional Witch Hunters operating under the full divine authority of the Temple of Alder and the Imperial Law. Witch Hunters are tasked with the sacred duty of rooting out Witches, Heretics, and all unnatural beings that threaten the safety and sanctity of our realm.
To obtain the Hexenjäger Mandate, all aspiring Witch Hunters must travel to the Temple of Alder and present themselves before Vater Gottfried The Redeemed in Adelsburg, who will review their worthiness. Upon approval, a signed and sealed document will be issued, officially certifying them as a legally recognized Hexenjäger under the laws of the Empire.
Responsibilities and Authority:
Holders of the Hexenjäger Mandate are granted the full authority to question, detain, and arrest any individual deemed necessary in pursuing heresy, witchcraft, or unnatural corruption within the boundaries of the law. All rights and duties are written in the document.
Hexenjägers operate as agents of the Temple of Alder, whether commissioned by the Clergy or contracted through payment by a third party. They execute their duties with the blessing of the Temple itself.
Any person subjected to lawful questioning, detainment, or arrest by a sanctioned Witch Hunter who resists is guilty of defying the Will of the Temple of Alder and will face the appropriate punishments. To defy the Temples' Will is to defy Alder himself.
Legal Consequences for Unmandated Witch Hunters:
Be warned, those who attempt to undertake the sacred duties of witch-hunting without the proper Mandate will be considered criminal vigilantes. Engaging in such activities without the Hexenjäger Mandate is illegal, and violators will be subjected to detainment and prosecution for defying the established laws of the Empire.
A Call to Arms:
Regardless of background, any citizen of the Empire may seek to become a Witch Hunter, provided they demonstrate the proper faith, devotion, and motivation. Those who acquire the Mandate stand as the shield and sword of the Temple of Alder, ensuring that heresy and corruption are met with swift and righteous justice.
Let it be known that those who oppose or resist the authority of a Hexenjäger stand in direct defiance of the Temple of Alder and shall suffer the full extent of the faith and law.
Issued this day by the authority of the Temple of Alder and in service to the Hadrian Empire and its law system.
For the glory of Alder and the protection of the faithful.
All will unfold as the Beneficent Oracle wills.
