To the people of Eden!
To all those who have been fearing the ever-approaching presence of the void!
Throughout the past years and almost decades, the people of Eden have been struggling against the void. In many battles, we have come out on top, vanquishing the threats upon our world. To this, there has only been one force that has grown to be troublesome. Only one that has been able to fight and even beat back the combined powers of Eden. For too long, we have been at the mercy of such an evil force. And we, the mages of Thyst, state this with pride: no longer will this force be undefeated. For on this day, the first time in our history, the mark of someone that pledged to the Lord of Bones has been removed.
The combined powers of our order's council and many of its mages gathered in the ruins of Löwau, and there, started the process to remove the mark from Krisa Amadeus. This caused the ruined city to be flooded with hordes of undead and minions of the Bone Lord, and our orc mage to be possessed. The fight lasted into the next day, as our magic at first matched the voidal powers before overwhelming and destroying them. After slaying the hordes of minions and undead and defeating the possessed magmamancer, another process was started to both heal the wounded mage and to remove the last remaining essence of the void in him.
With this, we now know how to cleanse someone of their brand and know how dangerous it can be. To perform a successful removal, the mark needs to be treated with the powers of each Elemental realm, which are Aquamancy, Aeromancy, Geomancy, and Pyromancy. The combined powers of these realms can, at first, weaken the mark and, after another set of treatment, completely remove it. This process will take time, and during this time, the Lord of Bones will not just stand by and wait. For this reason, only highly skilled mages should attempt such a procedure. After the mark's removal, the person who bore the mark seems to forget all other marked individuals, looks, names, and in general, everything useful about them, even the number of them.
The Bone Lord's weakness has been exposed. And we, as Eden, have grown stronger. We will end this danger! We will not be defeated! And we will win the war, whether it lasts a few years or a century!
