An End to Silence

-oOo-
For some time the temple in the Enlightened Kingdom had been quiet. The final days of the previous Scinari'cilus were taken by soft mumblings and contemplative prayer. Much in that time was both learned an unveiled, which the current Scinari'cilus surely was to appreciate. With the ascension of Alwith Gaethifeth that time had come to an end and the Temple of the Silver Phoenix could be heard again. Chant and canta began once more, heralding the glory of the Mother. Voice could ring again throughout the halls of them temple. So it did, through the instrument of Ca'en the sound of the sermon echoed once more in those exhalated halls.

----------"In ages long past when Azari were one people in the arms of the Elven Pantheon, purity reigned supreme. There was plenty in all our lands and peace was known throughout them. Then came the rending of Fineall. The Azari were torn apart, soon to be beset by generations of savage warfare and bloodshed brought on by the a'cursed 'lunn. They ravaged the once plentiful lands, committing acts of desecration so terrible that they shook the foundation of our world. Perhaps their most heinous act of all was the wholesale slaughter of the Azari'sol. Now gone their souls are forever banished to the fathomless void of the abyss of death."

----------"But those are ages past."

----------"Brought low by a world made hostile and impure, our golden age is gone. We live now in the Age of Reinvention, anointed when Therri'cill Aethis the Great Builder restored Azari'cill society. There is much for which we can be thankful for; we of The Enlightened Kingdom. But our present state compared from that high pedestal which we fell, is a Dark Age by comparison. Why should this be? Why is it that the brilliant light of the Azari'cill penetrate such endless plethora of endless night?"

----------"The reason is that the Pure Land of Luminion is the last bastion of the Mother's grace in the world."

----------"The Enlightened Kingdom though it fosters much light, is blinded by much ignorance. Some of this is due to impurity. Some of this was wrought by the destructive ages of 'lunn incursion. In practicing this ignorance the Azari'cill have forgotten something. Through time immemorial the Azari'cill were participants in a long heritage of missionary practices. This is why Luminion stands alone in its all-bright purity. We have forgotten that the Temple of the Silver Phoenix was bestowed upon the world and not Azari'cill alone."

----------"The way of the Mother is grace and beauty. It is a divine gift unto us mere mortals. We are the Mother's representatives on earth. In so doing, we must not allow the mother's grace be bound by mortal limitations. In regards to the Mother; we are here instruments. Faithful, valiant and pure. Her teachings are the dominion of the Azari'cill, but not to possess it exclusively. The arms of the mother have infinite reach. They should be allowed to gather up all life willing to aspire to a pure existence. As the last bastion of the Mother's grace we are styled each and every one of us as great inheritors. So I ask. What if something were to happen to Luminion? Eldrin's rebellion sets a president, that the stability of Luminion is not absolute. Should such an event occur again our enemies beyond the Pure Land could close in around is. In a weakened state the pure way risks being extinguished. The temple must be made to resemble the great avian from which is its namesake and rise up in glory! Or risk a terrible fall."

----------"To avoid this tragedy Azari'cill tradition of missionary practices must return. As the final land which houses the Temple of the Silver Phoenix, the faith is extremely vulnerable. New temples must be built in the lands far beyond. The impure lands must be restored into pure lands again through conversion, consistent enlightenment, and fortification of new temples for new faithful. If this is not done, which of us can say for sure that the future of the pure Azari'cill is assured. Can it be said with certainty now that Azari'cill will remain the paramount enlightenment in the world? Or are we destined to go the way of the 'lunn at the onset of the next great trial."

----------"Only the Mother can say…"
