magic development vs engineering development. you compared two very different things that have been focused on entirely differently within history
 
Yes, you have a point. However, I find it weird how, in the entire history of this massive MMORPG, not a single character has tried putting cloth across pieces of metal and jumping off or cliff, or putting small things of wood at funny angles and then throwing it. :/

Because medieval peasants don't have the resources and lacking of will to live to jump off a cliff with cloth. And/or upper class citizens care too much about their own life to do the same. Not to mention, there are significantly more interesting things for researchers to study like Voidal energies or places in Eden. As such, tech team would have to go through the massive effort to implement such a system when there is a whole list of more important things to be making.

Aviation is either;
a) specific and niche, or
b) not worth the effort/pointless
