Dedication and perserverance,
Reports of a contingent of 50 soldiers who were separated from central command arrived in Aerial yesterday. Several of the remaining officers who were out in the field for almost a decade traveled to Luminion to report back to command after noticing that Aerial had been taken, but received no missive from their commanding officers. In the days before the Silver City was established, the Luminous Enclave took precedence over the fair town of Aerial. When a demon of Rot and Decay took the town, there was a concerted effort to find and bring all the men and women who bravely fought for the control of Aerial back home. There were unfortunately many who died and many who were lost. The contingent of soldiers, who were then known as Silver-Detachment Iota Four, had received orders merely hours before the siege to take Aerial. These orders stated that they should remain in the north until further notice and keep a tight grip on the northern borders. The siege failed and both supply and communication lines were permanently severed; central command marked Silver-Contingent Iota Four as being among the KIA. As for the contingent, they did not know that it would be the last order they would receive for nearly a decade. Silver-Detachment Iota Four dutifully remained within the field. They hunted for food, mined metals and forged their own replacements, and tended to their sick and wounded through gathering, field medicine, and steeled wits. Out of the 50 men and women who were present in the contingent, only 23 remained. Understandably, none of the Azari’cill who returned home had any desire to comment too deeply into their experiences. They have proven both their duty and the Azari’cill’s truest loyal strength to become beacons of what we all should aspire to. The Monthly Light extends both a warm welcome home and thanks to these hardy few on behalf of the Enlightened Kingdom of Luminion.Luminion. Wineday 03, Newdawn, 1528
