[!] A declaration would be plastered through the alleyways and notice boards of the Republic of Raevendrecht and word would spread to other nations [!]
In accordance with Article 5.1 of the Articles of Constution the Stadtholder hereby declares another election season for the position of Grand Pensionary of the Republic. The current Grand Pensionary, Jinx van der Bijlkrijger may sit out her term until the day of election, and should she not be re-elected pass on the position to the contender. Now my fellow citizens of Raevendrecht, much has happened between this election and our last. The Republic went to war, the Republic outgrew its borders and drew many 'a new folk to town. Different parties and political allignments have been created and now is the time for the People of Raevendrecht to once again use their ballots to decide upon the future of the Republic.
Election Information & Events:
1. All candidates must enlist with their full name and party at the Stadtholder's office within 3 weeks
(OOC: 3 Days, Deadline is Wednesday 14th 18:00 CEST).
2. All Candidates must enlist together with their party at least four party members. All candidates must also provide a vice-candidate or running mate. Should the main candidate befall an illness, or be incapable of ruling the Vice-Pensionary will take his or her position. Vice-Pensionarys are also able to run debates if the main candidate isn't able to make it.
(OOC: It is advised to enlist your party as a political institute and host weekly events)
3. Party Program: All candidates must publish their running program and set goals for the upcoming election, it is advised to introduce your parties' picks for Ministers in this Election Program. (OOC: This must be done before Wednesday 14th 20:00)
3. First Impressions: All Candidates, who have submitted their candidacy correctly will be called to hold a speech on the Main Square of Raevendrecht, a podium will be provided, this is not a debate, but merely a political rally.
4. The Election Debate: All Candidates will be called towards the Estates General, to answer questions on their policy and to debate each other on the House floor. (OOC: Thursday 15th between 20:00-23:00)
5. Final Speeches and Election: All Candidates will be called towards the Estates General for the election, overseen by the Stadtholder. The ballots shall then be counted either Yay, Nay or Abstain, should the Abstains relinquish a result a second round of voting will be done to determine the winner. (OOC: Friday 16th 21:00)
