History

Contrary to House Zaithrall, the Aey’flirs weren’t always of noble blood. It has actually only been in recent times that they have ascended to a position of importance. But, that does not take away from the rich history of the Aey’flirs.

The oldest recollection of an Aey’flir soul seems to be just after the Age Of Fallen Spires. Old parchments describe two brothers that bear the Aey’flir surname. It took only the two of them, to shape the future of Aey’flirs for many centuries to come.

The brothers, who played a part in the expelling of foul Azari'lunn off of Azari‘cill territory were the spark that ignited a fire of Azari‘lunn hatred. And from then onwards, the Aey’flirs would establish themselves to be one of the most violent households towards the despicable Azari’lunn creatures.

During the Age of Fallen spires, the two brothers not only helped with the expelling of Azari'lunn out of the Glade of Dragons , but also became very skilled in the ways of combat and warfare. It was during this lengthy war that the Aey’flirs developed themselves to be a mainly military-focusedhousehold. Son upon son chose to serve in the military as a full-time Tyr’es Alari. This willingness to fight, plus their strong religious beliefs meant that the Aey’flirs became known as some of the strongest and fiercest believers and fighters within the Azari realm.

Slowly, members of the Aey’flir household began to climb the ranks in the Tyr’es Alari. This peaked when under Aethis’ rule, Gae’lin Aey’flir was promoted to Fini’solilunn. Gae’lin was serving his seventh year as Fini’solilunn, when he was greeted with a gift by the Mother. The birth of his sons Coleall and Fynenar Aey’flir. Though disaster struck only months after, a disaster of such proportion that he would not see them grow old, Gae’lin would fall that summer during a heroic defense of the Azari‘soll ruins when an orc raiding party attacked. Gae’lin led his troops into battle, being first on the line. Eventually being outnumbered he ordered his men to retreat while staying himself to hold his final stand. Gae’lin met his demise when a troll, recruited and under command of the Orcs hit him off the bridge he was defending, into the river below, his Silver gear making him sink to the river bed and drown.

The death of their father not only meant that Coleall and Fynenar were raised without a father figure. It also meant that the heroic line of fierce Aey’flir warriors would be temporarily broken. Gae’lin's sons not being old enough to take his place meant that the young Aey’flirs would over time get forgotten.

Seeing his mother suffer as a widow, and his name only being one for the history books and legends. Fynenar started praying to Aeriélle more often than ever before. He prayed he could one day restore his family name to the glory of its peak. A prayer that came through and brings us to today.

In this day and age, the Aey’flir house stands tall beside the Zaithralls. Their loyalty never wavers from the righteous Zaithrall royalty. And their focus is always on the prosperity of their Kingdom and the Azari’cill race.

Values & Beliefs

The Aey’flir household has always evolved around purity and their standings on the Tetheriani. It has been a lifelong pursuit of the Aey’flir to reach the final rung, in a never-ending striving to reach the very top, their quest might sometimes take a radical form.

The most important part of this quest for the highest rung is succeeding in the succession of House Aey’flir itself. So it may carry on its purity for centuries to come. This means that marriage is seen as one of the most important tasks in life in the Aey’flir household. In order to be married into the Aey’flir household, the candidate must not only be of the Enlightened rung on the Tetheriani, but they must also be of pure Azari’cill blood. After confirmation of these requirements, the candidate will be judged by the Scinari’cilus. If all is deemed well the wedding ceremony will be held in a small circle of good friends and relatives.

Second, to that is their religious beliefs. Aey’flirs by way of life are required by their 'Head of the House' to pray three times a day, in the morning, the afternoon, and evening. They will do so in the public temple or in a shrine in their respective homes. This is to ensure that none of the house stray off the path of the so beloved Mother, and all stay true to her virtues.

Finally is the Aey’flir household one of loyalty. Their role as loyal servants to both the crown and their religion must not be mistaken. They serve their superiors before anything else, as it is impure by the virtues of the mother to strive for self-gain.

In this day in age that means that they have sworen loyalty to both the Zaithrall family, but most importantly Aerielle the Mother and the Pantheon of the Silver Phoenix.

Appearance

House Aey'flir is one of 'pure blood', this meaning that the bloodline of the Aey'flir family has never been tainted by that of any other elves beside the Azari'cill. Their blood is that of the children of the mother and theirs only. This makes it easy to describe an Aey'flir, as every purity ideal, as decided for by the Tethiriani, is present on an Aey'flir family member. The Aey'flirs have pale skin, blue, green, or silver eyes, and silver or blonde hair. The average Aey'flir is like other Azari'cill around 195 cm tall.

The Head of the House can often been seen in dark red clothing. This not only to show-off the colors of their banner, but also to show their loyalty to the Enlightened Kingdom, which bears the red banner of the Silver Phoenix.

Family Tree

After the evacuation of Aerial, some important documents of the Aey'flir family had gone lost. A true recollection of the whole family tree can not be given at this time. Yet we can trace it back to the days of Gae'lin Aey'flir, first of his name. Grandfather of the legendary Gae'lin Aey'flir, second of his name
