AS STADTHOLDER AND PROTECTOR OF THE REPUBLIC, I, SILAS MOETIOUR-VAN LEUVEREN, PRINCE OF CATAMORA HEREBY INVOKE ARTICLE 5.1 OF THE ARTICLES OF CONSTITUTION
The Van Gravendrecht Cabinet has all but fulfilled its first term heading the Republics Government.
To preserve our democracy, and to uphold to the values of freedom and the respective rights of government the Stadtholder
would initiate the first cycle of elections since the United Provinces of Wakkerdam.
All citizens with the right to vote are eligible to stand for election for the esteemed office of Grand Pensionary.
According to the Article 3. of the Articles of Constitution the powers and responsibilities of the Grand Pensionary are as follows:
3. RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF THE GRAND PENSIONARY
3.1 The Grand Pensionary serves a term of two years in office (96 IRL Days), before another election is held.
3.2 The Grand Pensionary is responsible for presenting a cabinet. Who serve an equal term. All Regents in the Grand Pensionary’s Cabinet will have to be elected by the Estates General to be instated.
3.3 The Grand Pensionary or het Cabinet can propose laws, regulations and edicts towards the Estates General.
3.4 The Grand Pensionary presents a tax plan whenever he or she is elected.
3.5 Every bill voted upon by the Estates General, not presented by the Grand Pensionary shall. Upon being voted upon reach the Grand Pensionary’s office and needs to be signed. If the Grand Pensionary refuses to sign a bill during his or her term presented by the Estates General, the bill will be returned to the Estates General to require a two-third majority to be ratified.
ROAD TO ELECTIONS (IMPORTANT):
1. All Citizens have seven weeks to submit their candidacy for the office of Grand Pensionary through this form.
(OOC: All Citizens that wish to put themselves up for the position of Grand pensionary must respond the following to this post BEFORE FEBRUARY 5TH)
2. All Candidates must submit a pamflet proposing their plans, thoughts and ideas on serving a term as Grand Pensionary. (OOC: the Deadline for this pamflet/FORUM POST is FEBRUARY 7th.)
3. All Candidates for the position of Grand Pensionary are invited to a debate in the Estates General.
4. All Candidates are free to campaign leading up to the election.
5. The Election will be held when the campaigning weeks end. (OOC: Somewhere between the 9th and 15th of February)
