The Order of Lazarus sought to execute a matter of contract, of which involved us attempt to take the head of an Urk, and their associates. This involved attempting to break into a mountain-fortress named 'Zad', which used to be home to a dwarvish population, I'm told. Naturally, it's defenses were formidable, strong dwarvish foundations reinforced by infernal Urk works.
We were expecting blood, but the enemy was dug in like a considerably elder scale-tick. Multiple layers of defenses preventing our raiding party from concluding our objective. Challenges for duels were rejected, though in truth, any force with superior defensive qualities would be a fool to offer any ground. It was odd- These Urks are renowned for their own aggressive nature, of warriors whom hold a strong bloodlust, but sought no conflict with us, against all rumor of their ferocity.
Yet, that is from the standpoint of how the Urks are supposed to act. From a human standpoint, they acted exactly as they should have- Holding a superior defensive position against an enemy unable to properly lay siege to starve them out, or lacking the equipment to break in, they made the correct call in remaining behind their defenses, and letting our need to recuperate eventually draw us away. I suppose one could admit that what ever they are, stupidity is not a trait to be assigned to them.
Regardless, barbed words were traded back and forth, threats, promises of threats, until we eventually left. At the very least, we've gained a better understanding of what we're to face. They shouldn't be comfortable.
We'll be back.
