To all the faithful Alderists of the great Hadrian Empire,

In recent times, impious voices have reached my ears, the intent of which is to divide Alderism, causing it to derail into the oblivious chaos of Dolus.

Some accusations are aimed at the clergy and specifically at those who carry out the administrative functions of the Temple, very close to the Vater.

Regarding the accusations made against the Templar Paladins of being criminals, whereas only some of them are ex-criminals, I am forced to take action against these impious assertions.

It takes determination to know the bad and choose the good instead.

It takes faith to lift one's spirit from the depths of Dolus' chaos.

Finally, it takes courage to wield the sword of faith and face evil, the real one, after knowing and touching it first hand.

Those who have not known darkness and crime directly cannot fully understand the martyrdom, and the suffering and heroism necessary for those who, despite having been wounded by the evil of this world, have chosen good over evil by serving to the Vater.

Just as Alder suffered from the wounds of Barandjal the Mighty's demonic sword, they renew their pain and passion for what is good and right in this world every day by choosing the path of faith.

Yet ignorance is a great evil, which grows and expands like a plague brought by Dolus.

For this reason, all those who from now on will be accused of having addressed words of insult to the order or to the Vater with sufficient evidence, defining the sacred Order or its Temple as unworthy, will from now on be branded by the Vater as "Cultists of Dolus" with appropriate official documents.

Their oaths sworn to Alder, including oaths of marriage or vassalage, will be considered lies: null and void before Alder.

They will lose this status only after an official apology to the Vater and an act of penance decided by him.

This has been predicted.

Signed, Gregor von Volker, Vater of the Alderist Faith.

The Duchess of Bergwood would be about to step into the Great Cathedral as the missive caught her attention. While reading it carefully, she started nodding "I may not have forgotten what happened in the past, but he is very much forgiven. Other people deserve the wrath of Alder now" she said, thinking if she should write some sort of public pardon on the matter.

[!] A raven would be sent towards the Vater's residence in response to the proclamation. This response could also be found hanging underneath every copy the Vater had put up. [!]

To His Holiness Gregor von Volker and all those it may concern,

The Imperial Council has received your proclamation and discussed a course of action. An elementary truth was brought forth by one of our members, that truth being the unlawfulness of this proclamation, as it has been made without the approval of the Imperial Diet. However much the Temple is respected by the Kaiser and his people, it is not to create legislature or change it. This proclamation will be used as a proposal in the next Imperial Diet, until then, this proclamation will be considered null and void.

I hope to have informed you adequately.

[HEADING=3]The Vater[/HEADING]

The head of the Alderist Temple is known as the Vater, translating to the Father of the Alderists. He is the sole chosen leader of the faith within the Empire. The Vater is looked at as the heir of Alder himself and is tasked with setting out a course for the citizens of the Empire, translating Alder’s scriptures and the sentinel’s visions, and spreading the word of Alder’s will. Vaters themselves do not actually interpret the will of the Greater Pre-Determination directly for no religious leader after Alder has ever received direct guidance, yet through the word of the great oracle, Alder, the Vater follows a path to ensure enlightenment in the Ruling of Order.
OOC: Uhm... Isn't this like constitutional abuse? The imperial council cannot decide on matters of faith, nor deny the representative of Alder, and therefore Alder? I'm trying to figure out if this was intentional
