Violation of Imperial Law

Recently, the Imperial Council has gotten ein hand on ein dispersed piece of parchment carrying the crest of the von Leuveren family accompanied by the signature of the Herzog of der Hinterlanden. While reading through its contents it was deemed that the letter in question violates the 'Imperial Language Act'.

To make sure that everybody understands how this violation came to be, we included our reasoning und their consequences below.

Because a request is made to der Kaiser himself, the letter ist considered official communication between governing bodies within the Empire, therefore Article I applies.

  • Article I: Official communications between governing bodies within the Empire, must at all times be done through either Attian or Common-tongue

- Official communications include but are not limited to, letters, declarations, notices & laws.

Seeing as the letter is a declaration of the future of the Herzogdom of der Hinterlanden, it is deemed ein declaration and therefore violates Article II.

  • Article II: All contents of the letters, declarations, notices & laws are included in the Language Act. This means that names of places, titles and ranks are also included in said ruling.

    - The official titles of das Hadrianischer Reich can be found in the explanation of the 'Hadrian Law of Succesion' within der Kaiserliche Höf-Library in Adelsburg
    - All official names for places can be found in the book 'Heraldik des Hadrianischen Reiche' within der Kaiserliche Höf-Library in Adelsburg
    - All official titles for the Imperial Diet, Holy Temple of Alder can be found in 'The Imperial Court' section of der Kaiserliche Höf-Library in Adelsburg- - If any confusion or uncertainties arise regarding titles, ranks or names of places feel free to contact the Imperial Council, who can offer assistance.

Considering both articles described above have been violated the Imperial Council can only do what is right and apply the law through the following article.

  • Article III: If an official document has not met the criteria that have been set in the Imperial Language Act it, will be declared null and void by the recipient or the Imperial Council.

    - Communications to the Imperial Council will always be declared null and void if not written in the common or Attian language.

    - Declarations and Laws will always be declared void and unlawful if not written in the common or Attian
    language

Therefore, the conclusion can be no other than that, the declaration of Herzog Silas von Leuveren is to be seen as unlawful und void until another letter, written in common oder Attian ist provided.
