A Monarch is destined to take the people under his wing and protect his people, like how a shepherd protects his sheep.
In this task King Roderick Withmond has always held the people of Hadriana in the highest regard and has bled for them more than once.
The sudden and inconsiderate coup d'etat performed by the Augassi family who have schemed their way to the top of Hadrian society is not only unlawful, it is clear that their minds have been corrupted by Dolus and their hunger for power has let them to abandon the Hadrian people and their King who is the sword of the Maker on Eden. As Lord Vivan seeks to finalize his campaign of terror with his army of brigands and robber knights, the so called first company, they have more than once intimidated and threatened the innocent people of Prezza L'Aquila. It is in this vile lust for blood that the Van Leuveren family can not stand with their cause to claim the Hadrian throne. But the recent quarrels and terminal disunity of the Hadrian Kingdom has also convined the people of Prezza that they can not stand with the Kingdom of Hadriana anymore as a whole. Not only is it utterly drenched in corruption, it is a house divided that can not be unified anymore. Henceforth the people of Prezza L'Aquila must decide their own fate and turn away from the affairs of Kings and Usurpers in the West.
So the Van Leuveren Family turns to the people of Prezza and liberates this city from its troublesome past. The city shall be renamed as Wakkerdam, the capital city of the United Provinces of the Hinterlands. It has befallen to the people to rule and thusly this nation shall be lead as a Republic. The Van Leuveren family will take their place as the Stadhouders of the new Republic with executive power and with them a Raadspensionaris chosen by the Estates General with legislative power. This will put an end to all rumours of the Van Leuveren's not welcoming those belonging to the peasantry, from now on all Hinterlanders shall be regarded as equal citizens with equal judicial rights and a voice in the Estates General. The Nobility is delegated to serve the people, not themselves, as Regents. This message goes out to all the freedom loving peoples of Hadriana who would not wish to be entombed by the violent robber knights of the First Company.
From now The Hinterlands is to be regarded as an independent and sovereign state, not bound to the quarrels of the old Kingdom. We will however remain faithful to the one and only Maker. Hence we beg the Attian church to continue their mission in the Hinterlands.
To all those other nations looking in horror or surprise at the collapse of the Kingdom of Hadriana, becalmed, the people of the Hinterlands wish to serve the peoples of Eden as a free-city welcome to any race. We wish to form the backbone of trade in Eden and all and everyone is welcome to set up stock in our nation.
We regret the course of history, but it has befallen upon the people of the Hinterlands to fend for themselves and stand for the continuation of our glorious people.
