The Player Guide
Greetings! Welcome to Fables and Fantasy Roleplay Server. Here is a guide to get you started and explain some essential how-to’s regarding the server.
Firstly, it may seem a bit overwhelming to learn everything all at once, but don’t fear! You have time to learn, and any of our Staff Team are happy to explain and assist with getting you started if you ask.
--== Step 1 - Read the Rules! ==--
Before you begin on F&F it is important to go through and read the rules. That can be done here! Read through each rule, even if you believe it may not be important to you for now, including the War Rules.
Need help understanding something, including combat, chat commands, and more? Read our Guides section. Included will be much of what you need to know for the server itself and how to incorporate yourself as a new Roleplayer!
--== Step 2 - Apply! ==--
You can apply to play on our server here, on our forum. It is easy! Simply create an account to use, with a Username and Password, and you can apply. Remember - do not ever share your Username or Password with others!
Keep in mind that it is required that you are 16 years or older to play on F&F.
From here, you can simply fill out the form! To do so, you will need to create a character to join F&F with. At this point, it is important that you go to the F&F wiki.
--== Creating a Character ==--
To create a character, you will need to go to the aforementioned wiki and take a look at the Races. Your character must be one of the races on the wiki! Browse them, make sure to read through them before deciding which you would like to be.
Reminder! Your character must fit within the physical characteristics of the race you’ve selected! Make sure you know the rules of what half-breeds can be made, what cannot, and ensure that your character fits the eye, hair, and skin color according to the wiki that you may choose in that race.
--== Naming Your Character ==--
Now that you’ve picked a Race, Character, and decided what you’d like to play, you can fill out a few more sections of the Whitelist Application. Though there is more to do! You’ll need to think up a backstory and name for your character. This can be tough if you are starting out, but have no fear! As long as it fits within the lore of F&F and is feasible, you can be quite creative with this part.
There are quite a few sites to help you with naming your character, especially if you are one of the many who have trouble picking a name. Here is my recommended sites that are safe to use, and have hundreds of different name choices.

If you dislike any or all of these sites, there are many more which may help you pick a name. Simply google away!
--== Creating a Backstory ==--
This may be the more difficult part of creating a character. Though, there are also many sites which help you with character backstories and ideas. You can think up one of your own, be creative! Remember that your backstory must fit within the lore of F&F and be medieval fantasy.
Example of a good backstory:
Elistre is a High Elf who was born quite far from any town or city, far from the nations that are in place. She was born in a small cottage, and spent most of her time outdoors. None of her family were nobility, as such, she found herself simply enjoying the outdoors as she grew up…. (and so on)
Example of a not so good backstory:
Bill Nye the fourth was a scientist from outer space. He enjoyed frolicking on the moon at times, and arrived in his spaceship, crashing straight into the High Elven city of Luminion.
Jokes aside, ensure that it follows the theme of the server, in backstory, name, and appearance.

Reminder - Your backstory must be 200 words minimum and have TWO lore references! As such, you must look at and read the lore of F&F, found on the Wiki
--== Powergaming and Metagaming ==--
To end your application, you must know and describe the words “Powergaming” and “Metagaming” in your own words. I will give examples of both.
Metagaming:
You: “Ahhh! A bear is attacking me in character, get online and help, Suzy!”
Suzy: “No, sorry. That would be metagaming.”
Powergaming:
You emote: *And thus, I, the human archer, shot him with the force of ten horses and sent him flying backwards into the river. He is dead now.*
It is TIME!
Upon filling out each portion of the whitelist application, you may now submit it and wait for approval. This typically does not take very long, so wait patiently! While waiting, I recommend finding a skin that matches your character's physical appearance. You can also make one yourself, or buy one from our many skinners in our Art Commission channel. These are my recommended sites for skins.
REMEMBER - Do not go onto sites and take skins that are listed as “Do not use” or “Do not edit”
People who make skins on occasion do not want certain skins to be used. Do not steal skins from other players.

To end your application, you must know and describe the words “Powergaming” and “Metagaming” in your own words. I will give examples of both.
Metagaming:
You: “Ahhh! A bear is attacking me in character, get online and help, Suzy!”
Suzy: “No, sorry. That would be metagaming.”
