It is regrettable to have received the reply the Vrystaet offered us, a letter filled with empty wishes and childish insults. I can speak for the whole of the Empire when I say that our wish was never to rob the Vrystaet’s people of their freedom, but to break the shackles of the sham republic they so reluctantly must call home. Your republic was founded based on the principles of traitor-kin while inhabiting rightful Hadrian clay and claiming it for your own ambitions.

A reached-out hand was swatted away by a young man, preaching the idea of democracy to all who can hear, yet his seat is fixed. A young man who acts like he understands the strife of his people while he has lived in an ivory tower all his life, reigning over them as monarch. His swiftly called ‘Estates-General’, filled with yay-sayers, rejected the chance at a better life for their people.

The Empire recognises the failed project that is the Vrystaet’s democracy. And thus, demands the election of a new Stadtholder, chosen by their people, instead of continuing this farce. If the young Stadtholder wishes not to, he may change his title to Graf or Herzog, to better suit his status as a monarch.

Because of all truths noted in this letter, we must reluctantly be the ones to take the first step. The first step to cooperation, and the reclamation of rightful Hadrian soil. The lands north of the imperial province of Flüssland and of the river Vene, more commonly known as North-Flüssland, are presently inhabited by the Rovelt family, a noble family of Attian descent. Before that even, the land belonged to the Tzyrnowski family, also nobles of the Empire. Yet, the Vrystaet has claimed this land for themselves, shattering what little faith the Empire had in the Vrystaet’s leadership. It is for that reason we must demand that the lands known as North-Flüssland are returned to the Empire and be distributed back to either the House of Rovelt or the House of Tzyrnowski.

Should our demands not be met, our legions shall march across the river Vene, and we shall take what is ours by force. We urge any and all that oppose the tyrannical ways of their Stadtholder and council to let their voice be heard and travel across the borders into the lands of the Empire. All who choose to do so shall be met with clean clothes, sustenance and housing.

To the ones who choose to stay behind defending a failed system, we shall meet in honourable battle. The Empire promises your end shall be swift and just, for we hold no personal grudges.

You have three Saint's Days to accept, or we shall take it as a refusal.
