The Restoration of Raevendrecht

The resolution of the nation.

A decade ago, it was us who founded the Hooghlandsche Vrystaet, standing strong next to Silas van Leuveren. United under the strongest of bonds and utmost loyalty, bound to our common cause, we stood fast against countless obstacles. We fought to establish a nation never before seen. A nation founded on freedom, on democracy, a republic!
A nation founded by all of us. A nation not owned by one man, not owned by a king, a nation owned by every man prepared to give their life for the nation if necessary!
It is precisely this, that makes the Republic of Raevendrecht unique among all nations on the face of Eden.

However, with the establishment of our republic the struggle was not over after all.
Our ideals were corrupted at the hands of one man. The man who was supposed to protect us, became our suppressor. Many of us became disillusioned under the influence of the stadtholder, Silas, who has never seemed to respect our democracy much. A struggle many of our fellow citizens will be all too aware of.
It is thus the reason that over the years many of us have slowly faded into the background.

Yet our loyalty to our cause, to the nation, to our people, has never waned. The Hadrian usurpers of the past gave it all to eradicate our freedom. They failed. We fought bravely against the invader, and united - against all odds - we prevailed.

In defense of our freedom we fought off the Hadrian invader. We fought and will continue fighting with all our might against the undead hordes that have swarmed our lands.

Observing the recent exchange of communication between our stadtholder and the Hadrian Kaiser, it is painfully apparent that our stadtholder has become a weak reflection of his former self, irreversibly corrupted by his ever growing power and fear.
It is now clear that our stadtholder has at last fully given in to this corruption.
It is clear to all who have followed the recent exchange between the stadtholder and the Hadrian Empire that Silas has betrayed us.
Against the will of the nation our stadtholder is trying to abolish our freedom and forcefully merge our free state with the Hadrian Empire in this plot of ultimate betrayal!
Our stadtholder is knowingly giving up our sovereignty, our freedom, our democracy, and everything we stand for! To merge with an empire that to this day proudly displays the gallows that hanged his own uncle and the founding father of Hintish democracy, Arnoud van Leuveren!
A mere province of the Hadrian Empire, is that what we wish to be?!
No!

It is now that our freedom is under attack again that we must rise once more.
Silas has left us no choice.
It is thus time for a new era for our republic.

To protect our freedom
Our stadtholder has left us no other choice. We will never accept giving up our sovereignty.
The stadtholder has been deposed. The remainder of the old government, the military and everyone else that remains of our once so prosperous nation stands firm in our belief in an independent, free republic.
The corrupt power-hungry nobility will never again rule our lands.
In order to protect our hard-fought freedom, to protect our revolution from dark anti-revolutionary forces and all other forces seeking our demise, a new Provisional Government has been established and will be led by Matthijs van Oudkerken, Supreme Leader and Guardian of the Revolution.
No mercy will be given to those who threaten our freedom and all that which is rightfully ours.

Signed by the Provisional Government,

Johan van Leuveren
Matthijs van Oudkerken
Berend Berendzoon
Zell van Zessen
Grand Pensionary, Jinx van der Bijlkrijger

[!] Read through the notice delivered to his palace, chuckling at the mention of turmoil in the north "Besieged by the living dead, first a plea from ze Stadtholder, now a revolution speaking ill of ze empire, blaming it for their failure. Maybe they will come to reason after they satisfied themselves on the blood of ze Stadtholder. Yet that remains to be seen. Ich shall await their diplomats eagerly." he then passed the notion on to Kaiserin Catherine for her to read.

[!] Would read through the notice once it was given to her. "A shame trul-ee, to defame their uwn man, to defame us, and steel, we shall show zem mercy and peace if zey choose tu reelize their fate." She shakes her head and goes back to rocking her newborn sons.

[ ! ] Nahida would stumble upon the notice eventually. She would read it while drinking a cup of Yansoon Tea.
"Oh, the drama! Sudara dro na'atmal, Al'Raven, busdari al'ashaad."

"Oh, the drama! Your beauty time will not forget, Raevendrecht, slave of the generals."

[!] would get the notion handed by his ward Zarin thanking him before reading it.
I see, so the vari's up north are having a little rebellion how unexpected not like they have done it many times before, I just hope they will still hold themselves to our pact.
[!] as he would write a letter and send his bird to somewhere.

[!] Lily skimmed over the papers among many others as she let out a small sigh "Like there haven't been enough blood already. Hmm, I will stand by and watch. Let the Humans figure out if they really wanna keep fighting for something that clearly doesn't seem to work. Corruption always spreads... Perhaps a visit to Diederick would be in place..." With that, she mumbled and placed it into another pile
